Andrew J. LorkenIndependent Director
Mr. Lorken is an accomplished Telecommunications and Information Technology Executive. He has extensive experiences in IT transformation, operations alignment, and Technological Innovations. His leadership has positively affected companies such as Telstra, Vodafone, Foxtel, and even served the New South Wales Government.
He started his Career in PricewaterHouseCoopers Consulting as part of its Management Consulting Services Group in 1995 and subsequently led its Telecom IT and Business Transformation Program for AT&T in 2000. He also seconded being the Head of Programs of AT&T during this time. Mr. Lorken also was a consultant for Sprint Communications, advising the Head of Strategy for due diligence, evaluation, and Integration during its acquisition of Nextel.
In November 2002, Andrew became a partner of IBM Australia and New Zealand’s Communications and Media Industry Group. He mainly served Telstra Communications, specifically managing its Telstra Enterprise and Government business (TEG), and process and strategy consulting services. He was mainly responsible for the creation of TEG’s transformation roadmap which led to Telstra’s 3G Network implementation.
From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Lorken became IBM’s Strategy and Process Partner at Vodafone ANZ. He led in the company’s operational alignment and collaboration. This transformed Vodafone ANZ to a value-based organization.
He also worked for the New South Wales (NSW) Government as its Chief Investment Officer for Services and Innovations (CIO) from December 2009 to December 2011. His responsibility extended to the management of USD 300 Million of telecom and technology expenditures, innovations in NSW’s radio networks and led the Department’s cloud-first strategy and implementation. He also implemented the Government’s data program that was utilized primarily by the public, including geo-spatial data, topographic data, and land title data.
