Now Corp. bags contract to install e-mail system for Supreme Court

LISTED information technology (IT) firm Now Corp. will install a new e-mail system for the Supreme Court, after it was awarded the P57.528 million project.

Now Corp. told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday that it received the notice of award for the Judiciary Email System of the Supreme Court project from the SC’s Bids and Awards Committee for Goods and Services on Feb. 20.

The company is undertaking the project with joint venture partner Accent Micro Technologies, Inc., using IBM’s Collaboration Solution portfolio.

Now Corp. Head of Business Development and Strategy Kristian Alisasis Pura said the contract is valued at P57.528 million.

“The project entails the following: e-mail and collaboration for 7,000 users; audio/video conferencing implementation setup; system administration and end-user training; and technical support and maintenance services,” Mr. Pura said in a text message when sought for more details about the transaction.

Now Corp.’s five-year plan is anchored on a build-operate-transfer project for enterprises. Under this, enterprise clients will be provided with their own private communications network that is independent of public telcos, equipped with broadband connectivity, along with a cyber security plan and a collaboration software system.

Apart from IT, Now is also engaged in providing products and services related to media and telecommunications.

Now shares closed at P2.98 each on Tuesday, up 1.36% from its previous finish of P2.94 apiece.
